WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — On Tuesday, August 31, Harrison softball standout Ava Mobley was beyond nervous.
September first was when she could get calls or emails from schools wanting her to play at the next level. Or, her phone would stay silent, and she wouldn’t be able to continue playing the sport she loves.

However, Mobley wouldn’t need to wait too long for her phone to start ringing on that day. She said, “I got that phone call, I got that email, and as soon as I went on the visit to Bradley I knew it was my place, and I knew it was just great.”
Mobley signed with Bradley University early in November.
Even though it’s been over a month since then, she can’t seem to stop thinking about her signing day. She said it was an amazing feeling to finally be able to make things official and put pen to paper.
However, she said what was even better was seeing all the support from the people around her.
Mobley said, “You know the best part about it was seeing like the people that were truly behind my back. The people who really cared about it. And you don’t realize everyone that really does until they’re there. Even the people that really did that couldn’t make it, you know those text messages you got that day it felt so real, and it felt, again, amazing.”
Now that Mobley is officially taking her talents to the next level, she said it’s time to focus on her senior season, which she said she’s somewhat eager to start.
Mobley said, It’s definitely bittersweet. I’m extremely looking forward to it, but also kind of dreading it because I don’t want my last time tying my cleats on here to happen anytime soon.”
Mobley’s senior year campaign will begin in March of 2024 and she’s hoping it’ll end in June with a state championship.
