WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Andrew Hostetler contributed heavily to the Harrison Boys volleyball team’s win over McCutcheon on Tuesday. He put his stamp on the game with 11 kills, 15 points served, and one ace.

Hostetler is this week’s Athlete of the Week.

Harrison Boys Volleyball Senior Andrew Hostetler dominated Tuesday’s game against McCutcheon.

But he said he wasn’t the only player that helped get the big win. Hostetler said, “My teammates really helped. I mean I couldn’t do this without them. They got the passes there. They played really hard. And that helped me play my best as well.”

His Head Coach Kristie Hostetler said Andrew’s relentless drive to get better makes him stand out as a player. She said, “Andrew’s brings a fantastic work ethic every time he’s on this court. He’s never satisfied with good enough. There’s sometimes I have to remind him and say hey that really wasn’t bad and he’ll say but it wasn’t good enough.”

Though Andrew gratefully accepts the recognition, he still expects more from himself in the future.

Hostetler said, “Being awarded like this is a big accomplishment but I’m always wanting to really push myself so this is a really nice milestone to where I want to be.”

Watching him grow as a child and a player, his mother and coach leave her final remarks. She said, “I just want to tell Andrew how incredibly proud I am as a mom, as I am as his coach and as the Harrison boys volleyball program is of him with the work that he’s put in.”
