The Associated Press on Monday announced its All-America team and Purdue freshman defensive back Dillon Thieneman made the third team.

The Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Thieneman ranks second nationally in interceptions (six) and third in solo tackles (74), both new Purdue freshman records and more than any other freshman in the country. Thieneman’s team-high 106 tackles rank fifth in the Big Ten.

Thieneman joins Rondale Moore (2018), David Bell (2021), George Karlaftis (2021) and Charlie Jones (2022) as Boilermakers to collect AP All-America honors over the past six seasons.
