WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — High school boys and girls basketball will see some changes to the game starting next season.

The NFHS met to discuss and vote on several rule changes. One of the biggest changes that we’ll see this year has to do with ‘flopping.’

‘Flopping’ is when you fake being fouled, and it’s what the NFHS is trying to get rid of.

The NFHS stated that if players get caught flopping they will receive a team warning. If players get caught a second time it could result in the team receiving a technical foul.

According to the NFHS, the reason behind this rule change is to, “get these dishonest acts out of the game.”
