WEST LAFYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Day one of fall camp for Purdue football began on Wednesday morning.

The Boilermakers stormed the field at Bimel Practice Complex with larger numbers than last season as injuries fell to the team early.

Head coach, Ryan Walters, spoke about the depth this team has.

“We’ve got a lot more depth in that room, especially at the corner position. That’s obviously going to push guys a lot harder because opportunities are going to be limited just because of the amount of depth,” Walters said. “Also, even though they’re competing, they are really tight-knit — So, even though they’re competing with one another, it’s because of the amount of time that they’ve spent with each other and how hard they’re working.”

Wednesday’s practice marked one month until the start of the season, as Purdue will host Indiana State on August 31st at noon.
