WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (PURDUE SPORTS) – The Purdue ladies’s basketball staff rolled to a 106-45 exhibition win over Quincy on Sunday afternoon at Mackey Enviornment. All 12 Boilermakers who obtained in on the motion scored 5 or extra factors.
Purdue shot a blistering 58.5% from the sphere and related on 11 3-pointers. The Boilermakers dominated the glass with a plus-23 margin and restricted the Hawks to only 4 second-chance factors. Purdue dished out 25 assists on 38 made subject targets.
Jayla Smith led the best way on the offensive finish with 20 factors on 8-of-11 capturing, contributing considerably to Purdue’s 52 factors within the paint.
A trio of freshmen joined Smith in double figures. Mary Ashley Stevenson tallied a double-double of 15-points, 12 rebounds. Rashunda Jones matched Stevenson with 15 factors and added three rebounds and three assists. McKenna Layden chipped in 12 factors on 4-of-6 capturing with 5 boards. Collectively, the first-year squad, together with Emily Monson who chipped in 5 factors and three assists, accounted for 47 factors, seven triples, 21 rebounds and 9 assists.
Purdue set the tone early and constructed up a 17-point benefit within the first. Within the second, Quincy scored to chop the hole to 49-27 with 2:57 to play within the half. The Boilermakers held the Hawks off the scoreboard for the subsequent 11:15, whereas occurring a 33-0 run to place the sport effectively out of attain.
