RENSSELAER — The First Presbyterian Church in Rensselaer not too long ago introduced Dr. Anthony Butler as its new pastor.
Butler has been serving because the Bridge Pastor on the church. Previous to his present service, Butler had been filling the pulpit recurrently since August 2020, and is drawn to the neighborhood.

Butler started ministry in Rensselaer with the campus ministry division at Saint Joseph’s Faculty. After the school’s suspension of operations, Butler directed non secular schooling at St. Augustine Church and its college till February 2021.
He’s initially from the Village of Deerfield, Michigan, and earned his Physician of Ministry diploma in Could 2020 from Candler College of Theology at Emory College, in Atlanta, Georgia. His undergraduate diploma is in Elementary Schooling from Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan.
Butler notes that his spirituality has been deeply influenced by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, with whom he stays affiliated as an affiliate member.
Butler met his spouse, Brenda, after they each did a 12 months of volunteer service with Dominican Volunteers USA, in Chicago. They lived in a convent with Dominican Sisters and different volunteers and former volunteers. They fell in love and married in Chicago. They’ve two kids, Owen and Norah.
As Bridge Pastor, akin to an interim, Butler served all pastoral duties inside the congregation. He fortunately meets with members of the congregation and people inside the neighborhood. He additionally enjoys representing the church within the wider neighborhood.
