I’ve always loved fish but was under the impression that it was difficult to prepare.

Some types of fish are harder than others, but this pan-seared tilapia is so easy.

Ingredients include:

Fresh tilapia filets

2 tablespoons of butter

Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb Seasoning Blend to taste (I like a lot!)

Salt and pepper to taste

Lay the fish filets on a plate. Season one side. Preheat a griddle pan or large skillet on the stovetop on medium-high heat, with the butter in the pan until it starts to bubble. Put the fish in the pan, seasoned side down. Season the top side of the fish. Sear each side of the fish for 5-6 minutes. Only turn the fish once and do not press the fish with the spatula. This makes for flaky, moist fish filets.

I have also learned that delicious meals don’t have to take a long time to prepare. I always serve my pan-seared tilapia with steamed broccoli and rice. I buy inexpensive bags of steam-in-bag broccoli florets and microwaveable bags of pre-cooked rice. The cilantro and lime flavored rice goes really well with the fish. Toss the broccoli with butter, salt, and a little parmesan cheese, and you have a delicious meal.

Also, if you are watching your salt intake, the fact that the main seasoning is a Mrs. Dash product, which is salt-free, is great. Just leave out the extra salt in the recipe.
